Chili Fest 2023

The Bracebridge Library’s first annual Chili Fest was a free, fun, family friendly event that brought some spice to the cold winter season. The event hosted a competition between six local restaurants to see who made the best chili. The winning restaurant claimed the Chili Fest trophy, had $250 donated to a charity of their choice, and got the all important bragging rights for the rest of the year!

After counting over 200 votes, the 2023 Chili Fest winner is… Kitchen’s Buttertarts for their Maple Bourbon Bison Chili! Kitchen’s Buttertarts was competing for SickKids Hospital who will receive the donation on their behalf.

From delicious chili’s to fresh made buns, we can’t thank these restaurants enough and remind attendees to continue to show their support to all of our local businesses throughout the winter season.

“I am so grateful to all the amazing local restaurants and local businesses who supported this event.  Everyone had such a great time and the library never smelled better!“ – Ashleigh Whipp, Community Engagement Coordinator

“Being local, this is such a proud moment to enjoy the creativity & passion & skills that live in this community. What a way to find sunshine on a grey day!” – Local attendant Marty

Thank you to our sponsor Stevens’ Your Independent Grocer, and our participating local restaurants: The Old Station Restaurant, Fresh Kutz Market and Grill, Kitchen’s Buttertarts, Bracebridge Barrelhouse, The Griffin Gastropub, Basilico, and Big River Baking Company.

Who do you think will take home the trophy next year?
